This is a simple rig to control a straight rope like this model by means of some main independent controls with their position and lots of secondary independet controls to add extra detail and complex shapes. I used a blending of techniques to practise my rigging skills with this exercise. Also I programmed several iterative tasks to make easier the rigging proccess by means of Python Scripts.
According to rigging proccess, I used curves and surface NURBs 3 Cubic to move a group of independent joints that they are attached to the surface NURBs by means of follicles. Finally I used skinCluster to deform the mesh.
