This is a new model where I return to Modeling & Texturing World since a long time. This modern knife was a little practise I wanted to do by modeling it from a real knife to review my hard surface and texturing techniques. First, I prepared some reference images as a blueprints, and then I modeled it in Maya 2017 in two versions: medium poly and high poly (bevels in hard edges to smooth then). So I created a detailed topology to show each piece individually in a explode view and a first-person videogame.
Then I used Substance Painter to create PBR textures with a little damage in borders. Finally I rigged and animated this weapon in Maya, and I exported the result to Marmoset Toolbag in order to render different images and movies with a cool lighting and high quality render settings.
I enjoyed a lot with all process and I hope you like it.
