Eraser Holder Prop - Modeling and Texturing

The eraser holder is the last prop I created for several days this summer. This asset began as a modeling practice in Maya because I hadn’t modeled any asset in this software in the last year. I also wanted to model an object that was easy but also with complex shapes and details, so I chose my eraser holder from the well-known brand “Staedler”.

First, I disassembled the different parts of this rubber to study and take it several photos as you can see on the references. Then I modeled each piece from a low version to a high version with each detail. The UVs were unfolded in Maya and the textures were created in Substance Painter. Finally, I set a three spot’s lighting and rendered the final image in Arnold Renderer. The postproduction was made in After Effects.

I enjoyed a lot with all the process and I hope you like it.
