The statue of Julius Caesar is the last hero prop I created for a project about Roma some months ago.
This project consisted of a cartoon roman still life where I modeled a lot of cartoon assets like this bust of the famous emperor. I chose this issue because I love the Roman culture since I studied History in the school. First, I searched for a lot of references like the character of Julius Caesar in the film "Asterix: The mansions of the gods" of Mikros Animation, who I loved because of his exagerated shape and cartoon style.
The hero asset was sculpted in ZBrush for the blocking and the high poly and Maya for the final topology. Then I unfolded the UVmaps and created the Arnold's shaders with textures I created in Substance Painter. Finally I set a three spot's lighting and rendered the final image in Arnold Renderer. The postproduction was made in After Effects.
I enjoyed a lot with all process and I hope you like it.
